Petroleum Sports Promotion Board perfect at 22nd National Team Women 2025
Petroleum Sports Promotion Board scored a perfect 14/14 to win 22nd National Team Chess Championship 2025 Women. PSPB actually won the tournament with a round to spare when Telangana A lost to them 0-4 in the penultimate round. The defending champions won the tournament for the second consecutive year with a 100% score. After skipping the previous edition, Airports Authority of India scored sole 11/14 to secure second place. Andhra Pradesh A scored 10/14 to finish third. PSPB becomes the champion with a round to spare for the second year in-a-row
The top seed and defending champion, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board delivered an encore performance. Just like the previous edition, this time also they won the tournament with a round to go and finished with a perfect score. IM Nisha Mohota was the top scorer for her team 6.5/7, followed by WGM Mary Ann Gomes 5.5/7, then IM Eesha Karavade and IM Padmini Rout 5/6 each. WIM Vishna Vasnawala contributed a valuable 3/3. Four out of five team members claimed two individual Golds, one Silver and a Bronze.

The seven-day seven round Rating Team tournament was organized by Gujarat State Chess Association at GSC Bank in Ahmedabad, Gujarat from 5th to 11th March 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
